Role as project coordinator is to lead the design and data collection of a quantitative framework to monitor and respond to slow-onset emergencies in urban slums. • Monthly digital data collection in multiple urban slums (over 2,000 households) in Nairobi. Indicators and thresholds for action cover food security, insecurity, and negative coping strategies. Data collection framework has since been replicated in other contexts. • Designed a cash transfer in Nairobi slums in Aug 2014 for 2,000 households, via mobile money (M-PESA). Early-warning humanitarian response was based on data showing stark increases in severe hunger. •Responsible for 2.2 million USD budget over three years. Manage staff of three as well as external partner organizations and consultants. •Technical advisor role (20%) provides overall technical assistance and research support to Kenya country office. -
