In this role I am responsible for evaluating and awarding grant applications to municipalities and nonprofits in support of urban forestry efforts in Wisconsin disadvantaged communities. Fieldwork includes working with grantees in their communities to ensure successful projects. This role is with the Bureau of Applied Forestry's, Urban Forestry Team.

In the UW-Madison Division of Extension, I provided state-level coordination and program support to horticulture programs, working with on-campus specialists and county-based educators. I was responsible for produce safety training.

Central Wisconsin

This role is 100% administration. I provide oversight and leadership to a five county area in Central Wisconsin, supporting Extension Educators and working with local county governments, and other community partners to ensure local needs related to extension programming are met.

I conducted socio-economic modeling of small towns which rely on natural resource energy sectors; looking for patterns, trends and causal relationships. Concurrent research included human perceptions of insects, and human perceptions of arboricultural insect resistant species. Teaching responsibilities included courses in Forest Ecology, Rural Sustainability and Biometrics.

I worked with 11 laboratories at Lakehead's Centre for Analytical Services promoting their services and expertise to potential clients within the community and local businesses. I also oversaw marketing, customer service, invoicing, accounts receivable, and other light book keeping.

I provided budgeting and leadership oversight to the Opportunities Centre. At the time it was Thunder Bay's 2nd largest food bank serving 100s of families annually. I also oversaw programming which served people working through recovery. A large part of the job included recruitment, training and oversight of a large group of volunteers.

Research included studying the affects of various weed management options in Ontario tree plantations. Other work included teaching seminars and mentoring undergraduate students.Teaching responsibilities included lab sessions for the course Conflict Resolution in Resource Management.

Serving primarily Putnam County, NY, I taught pesticide safety training to commercial pesticide applicators. I also worked with homeowners to reduce fertilizer and pesticide use. Additionally I oversaw a group of about 20 Master Gardener volunteers where we delivered public seminars and ran a small plant pathology diagnostics and entomology lab.

As a certified arborist and certified pesticide applicator in New York State, the majority of my work included diagnosis and treatment of trees and shrubs for disease and insects. Other duties included treatment logistics and scheduling.
