    Felines 'R' Us is the name I use as an umbrella for my occasional independent consulting work.I help individuals and small businesses with general IT needs, including selection / installation / configuration / maintenance and PCs, small LANs, Internet connectivity, software / applications, and of course security and privacy such as encryption of files or whole systems, proper understanding and use of widely available tools which the well informed person can use to significantly reduce their probability of suffering a security violation or data loss. I also help people understand how to analyze their business needs and structure their requirements so that they can effectively identify products and services to meet their needs, avoiding overspending on unnecessary shiny toys, and wasting time on tools which don't do what they actually need.I also provide guidance in cases where an individual feels or fears that their privacy or information security is threatened or has in fact been violated, to assist in deciding whether, and if so, how to contact appropriate authorities.I provide these services both in person and remotely over the Internet and by telephone. I'm not particularly cheap (nor am I highly expensive), and I'm worth every cent.
