Jayme Lang Email and Phone Number
988 is a crucial service where stress and isolation seem neverending for some people in our society. I am pleased that I have been trusted to be a part of the team to answer these calls. I use my training and education, and also my lived experience to help people through their difficulties. I might not always have the answers or say the right things. I will, though, ensure my callers never feel alone. I reach through the darkness to offer my hand, and say, "I'm with you. I have a light. We'll walk to the other side together."

Administrative Assistant IiOhio Board Of Nursing Jun 2008 - Jan 2012Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area·In a paralegal capacity, I investigated nursing exam applicants’ criminal backgrounds; reviewed confidential reports and information.·During my tenure with the OBN, my boss, an attorney, was on a leave of absence for medical reasons for approximately 3 months. In that time I assumed some of her duties that did not require a license, including presenting applicants’ cases before the Board to determine possible discipline and ability to sit for the NCLEX. I had to prepare each cases' materials carefully and in the order I would speak to the Board. This was very difficult for me as I feared public speaking. I wrote main speaking points, maintained my composure, made sure to speak loudly enough and made eye contact with my audience. Following my first speaking experience my department's director advised that I did well and she looked forward to my next presentation. ·Spoke with applicants to better understand the underlying circumstances surrounding the events that led to their involvement with law enforcement. Occasionally such conversations would become tense and difficult. I maintained professionalism, objectivity, allowed the applicant to vent, validated their emotions and thoughts, and provided feedback regarding the Board's possible positions on their ability to sit for the NCLEX. In addition, I explained the process by which the attorneys I worked with would arrive at their decisions, and whether further review by the Board might be necessary. ·Researched criminal cases through Courtview, obtained court documents and police reports.·Drafted evidence summaries for attorneys’ review and kept very organized documents within case files.·Utilized a set protocol to clear applicants to test when there were minor and/or older criminal convictions.·Used Macintosh operating system, Filemaker, E-License (CAVU), and Microsoft Word.
