Jay P. Ferguson is Chief Legal Officer of Randstad North America, a leading human resources and staffing firm, and oversees its U.S. and Canadian legal strategy and affairs. PartnerDuane Morris Llp 2003 - Jun 2009As a member of the Labor and Employment Practice Group, Jay defended single and multi-plaintiff employment litigation in over 25 jurisdictions in federal and state court, court-ordered arbitrations, mediations and administrative agencies, including claims of discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations (including collective actions), WARN Act violations, Fair Credit Reporting Act violations and unfair labor practices. He also gained extensive experience litigating other complex business cases, including trade secret and unfair competition actions, defamation claims, breach of contract actions, negligence and other cases. In addition, Jay represented employers during the OSHA inspection process and following the issuance of a citation.Complimenting his business and employment litigation experience, Jay counseled corporate clients extensively on employee relations, performance appraisals, DOL investigations, reasonable accommodations, terminations and disability and leave issues, among other matters. He also prepared and negotiated employment and separation agreements and drafted employee handbooks and personnel policies.Jay served as Partner at Duane Morris in 2009 and Associate from 2003 to 2008.
