James (Jay) is a partner in the Atlanta firm of Schwartz Rollins LLC. Immediately after graduation from law school, Jay began work as law clerk to the Honorable Duross Fitzpatrick in the Middle District of Georgia. He started working at Fisher & Phillips in 1989, but in 1993, he joined three other lawyers from F&P, to form their own firm specializing in representing corporations in immigration matters and individuals and small businesses in employment matters. In that practice Jay focused on assisting individual clients in addressing their employment issues, and in advising his business clients in addressing day-to-day employment-related issues, reviewing and preparing policies and handbooks, conducting employee training, and handling charges and other claims filed by current and former employees. Since 2004, Jay has been included on the list of “Super Lawyers” in Georgia; and in 2006 an 2009, Georgia Trend Magazine included Jay in its list of “Legal Elite.” Jay has served the State Bar of Georgia as an officer for the Labor & Employment Section for the past 4 years, and is currently Chair of the Section. Jay and his law partner, Debra Schwartz, have been practicing together for 14 year, and have had their current firm, Schwartz Rollins, LLC since 2009.
