- Liaise with construction delivery teams, external design consultants and design reviewers to enable the construction of temporary and permanent works in the West Gate Tunnel Project.- Engage with Proof Engineer, Independent Reviewers, and other statutory stakeholders (e.g. VicRoads) to obtain their endorsement for the project’s engineering activities.- Provide guidance to junior engineers on understanding technical issues and the process of temporary and permanent works design development and management for the project.- Manage temporary works design packages from planning, design brief development, preliminary design, detailed design, review and approval, implementation and monitoring, modification/adjustment, dismantling and removal, including management/escalation of design risks, priorities, and cost reviews.- Manage permanent works design packages where there are non-conformances to, or omission of permanent works design in the original design packages. Permanent works design management involves discussions with various project stakeholders regarding design scope, operation and maintenance, durability, aesthetics, and cost considerations.

Civil / Structural Engineer in Melbourne Metro Tunnel project

- Engaged with more than 50 engineers across various delivery teams (stations, overhead structures and wiring, substations, rail signals, track, operational control systems) in the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project to promote and foster the importance of meeting project completions requirements (timely submission of redline drawings, asset registers / images / survey data for rail assets, production of as-built drawings, etc)- Created a project master register which collated up-to-date information sourced from various teams in order to align key information across the project such as construction elements / forecast dates / design packages / names of delivery leads / completion statuses. The information contained in this register was regularly sought after by colleagues across the project as well as by the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) stakeholders

- Provided close support to the principal engineer in the detailed design of heavy-duty temporary works such as structural steel excavation lateral support systems and construction decks, including the periods when the principal engineer was overseas for urgent project discussions- Coordinated with drafters to produce IFC drawings for construction in the field- Addressed comments and queries from the building and construction authorities as well as partner contractors and consultants (Dragages, Vinci Construction Grands Projets, Samsung, Arup, Tony Gee, Mott MacDonald) on the engineering design calculations and drawings- Wrote programs in Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to automate design calculation and report printing processes, thereby achieving greatly improved speed and accuracy in design calculations and the generation of design reports

- Engaged in a construction quality assurance and control role in several projects including tunnel construction by tunnel boring machines and mining methods, deep excavation for underground metro station, construction of multi-storey commercial building, and the laying of underground 2.2m diameter pipeline via cut-and-cover and pipe-jacking methods- Led and rostered shift work for a team of 8 tunnel inspectors to supervise tunnel construction 24x7- Cross-referenced structural, mechanical, and architectural drawings for the multi-storey commercial building to pick up discrepancies and clashes between structural elements and building services- Engaged and liaised with external stakeholders (various landowners) to arrive at an optimised pipe alignment and subsequently obtained approval to lay pipe across various jurisdictions
