I finished my PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December of 2019, where I studied surface chemical and morphological modifications to silicone elastomers for the rational control of nucleation, adhesion, and thin-film formation. I then moved onto a postdoctoral position at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under Professor Paul Braun, where I synthesized polymer structures with sophisticated internal structure and properties. While working as a Post doc, I began helping with an early stage biotechnology start-up company, TearDx, LLC, focused on building diagnostic medical devices for ophthalmological disease. I have since moved to working full-time with TearDx as a research scientist.
