Currently an instructor in the Advertising and Public Relations department at the University of Alabama, teaching classes in strategic thinking, consumer research and insights, media planning and agency management.Prior to joining the faculty at Alabama, Jay was an award-winning communications planning expert, having won a Media Lion at the Cannes International Advertising Festival and "Best Media Plan of the Year" from Mediaweek magazine. In his 20+ years of advertising and media experience, Jay has worked in numerous categories, including consumer packaged goods, QSR, banking, sports marketing, public utility marketing, health insurance, tourism, anti-smoking campaigns, telecommunications and industrial marketing. Jay has experience in planning/purchasing a wide range of media types, including national/local television, national/local radio, consumer/business magazines, newspapers, out-of-home, experiential and cinema advertising. Jay's experience also extends to the digital, planning campaigns in search, online video/audio and banner advertising.
