Have primary responsibility for the vision, strategic direction, and management of all Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) and Careers in Medicine (CiM) research and data operations. OSFS research and data operations include all topics related to the role of education debt in medical education including modeling loan repayment scenarios for all debt levels and any possible medical student career paths; analysis of annual debt trends using AAMC survey data; and producing reports, analyses, and data visualizations that support OSFS publications. CiM research and data operations include analysis and expansion of CiM career assessments; managing data to support medical student specialty and residency selection decisions; conducting annual surveys; and planning and conducting research projects to create resources to support medical students and schools in medical student career development.

• Conduct research, analyze data, and crunch numbers for the FIRST Initiative which creates financial information, resources, services, and tools to help members of the academic medicine community navigate the complexities of student debt. Work full-time from Austin, TX home office.

• Managed direction, vision and daily activities of four person unit fielding five annual accreditation surveys, producing benchmarking reports for all U.S. medical schools, and fulfilling nearly 100 annual research and data requests. Responsible for all aspects of data collection and reporting for annual accreditation survey of medical school finances.

• Managed and analyzed data to guide public radio’s national funding policies and strategies, particularly those supporting rural and minority stations, while tracking listening and financial performance of 390 stations

• Core team member for research projects analyzing public radio’s national audience and industry fundraising tactics. Developed new and upgraded existing audience research reports and websites for company’s national and local station clients with a focus on helping them understand their listening audience.

• Conducted investigative research, including campaign finance database analysis, in search of illegal or improper fundraising activities by parties and candidates during the 1996 elections

• Analyzed data, researched, wrote, and edited reports as part of a non-partisan 3-person team linking political contributors and their legislative and lobbying goals.
