Through my experience at Augustana College I was able to develop better communication and time management skills through team projects, tutoring, leadership positions in the organizations I was involved in, and working at our dining hall in food service. I was on the Dean's list for the entire four years I was in college and was invited to join The Phi Beta Kappa Society, which is the oldest, most selective, and most respected honor society in American higher education. As of now I currently work at a retirement center as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) to provide care to residents with their activities of daily living, while gaining clinical hours for the next step in my career path of attending physician associate graduate school in the near future. By being a CNA I am able to handle stressful situations everyday, improve my communication and time management skills more, and bring more joy to the residents I have become fond of. Furthermore, being bilingual in English and Spanish has helped me connect better with some of the staff members which has increased our teamwork. Working as a CNA has reinforced my will to keep pursuing healthcare.
