One of the master architects of BSC's ALYA, together with G. Houzeaux, supervising a group of 35-40 researchers, PhD Students, Post-Docs and Programming Engineers. ALYA is a Large-Scale Computational Mechanics code, capable of solving multi-physics problems in supercomputers.MV is also Applications Manager and member of the Executive Board of the Center of Excellence in Computational Biomedicine (CompBioMed) created in the summer of 2016. MareNostrum IV is a 13.5 Pflops cluster, hosted by the BSC in Barcelona. One of our major concerns is to be ready for the next generation of supercomputers, a fact that powers one of our research lines: new algorithms and codes for advanced architectures.Specialties: Large-scale Computational Mechanics, targeting applications not only in Biomedical but also in Aerospace, Automotive, Environment or Energy Industries.
