The Techrangers team at UCF's Center for Distributed Learning is responsible for creating and updating online courses that comply with section 508 and HTML5 standards. Additionally, the team develops web applications in PHP and Python to increase productivity and improve the university's capabilities.

This position was split between the marketing and software teams. For marketing, my main tasks were updating and maintaining the corporate website, as well as creating Flash and Captivate demonstrations of the company's software and services. I represented the company at conferences all over the country, as well as leading the production effort for promotional videos, including studio setup, shooting, and editing in Adobe Premiere. On the software team, I created custom server solutions using PHP and MySQL, as well as functionality for iPhone applications. I also assisted with research into facial expressions and body language. Using Adobe Flash Media Server, I created assessments and Rich Internet Applications. Finally, one of my main tasks was management and creation of custom educational scenarios for universities and the military.

My initial work in this part-time position was developing custom Flash animations and games for college courses. Later, I began to research new types of media that might help bridge the gap to a new generation of learners. In the course of this research, I designed and implemented an online system that allowed professors to create and share Learning Objects. Students could also log into the system to use the Learning Objects and be graded on their performance. After, graduation, I left this position for a full-time one, and my work became the basis for the Obojobo system.
