I am an urban geologist and spatial data scientist. My research works to mitigate disasters using emerging technologies. To this end, I study the physical environmental processes between humans and their environments. As a geologist, my work has focused on floods, fire, and drought, but I find the most compelling environmental hazards are those for which humans are both victims and the culprits. Environmental and health disparities are at the core of these challenges, and the way we solve these problems will determine how bright our future on this planet really is.
