During my 12 years as the Department of Social Services Computer Systems Administrator, I solely managed all computer, server, phone, and technology systems for the agency. When initially hired, the state of technology was in such a state of disarray that end users were told to ignore virus warnings on computers and data was still being saved and stored on 3.5 inch floppy disks. Accountable for all Windows 3.11, 9x workstations maintenance to ensure minimal downtime, responsible for maintenance and upgrade of Novell 4.11 and AS/400 client network. Responsible for the research and installation of hardware and software upgrades and decisions needed to make these changes possible. Assisted over 80 users in daily computer and software related problems in over 40 business-oriented applications. Redesigned network infrastructure and implemented changes. Also designed wiring, cabling and D-Link switching fiber optic backbone for new construction to be adjoined to existing network.
