I am a Senior Software Development Manager at IDEXX. I lead an Agile team of developers, testers and devops that use AWS cloud technologies, and custom software solutions, to connect to fielded instruments and improve customer experience with IDEXX products. In this role I am responsible for team and process development, technical and product strategy, and managing a budget.I began my career in software development as a Quality Assurance Engineer for an application used for industrial automation, and after a few years became the Director of Quality Assurance. In this role I developed skills that would be foundational for my career as a technical and people leader through the transition of our software development process to the Agile Scrum framework. A transition to Agile Scrum requires skills in managing culture change, collaboration, persuasion, patience, perseverance, and planning. I use these skills daily with my development team and line of business partners to create an environment that allows team members psychological safety to communicate openly, question, learn and create high quality products. I earned certifications in the Scrum Master and Product Owner roles, and worked for a year as a team Product Owner prior to my current role as Development Manager. I have a strong understanding of Scrum and the value it can bring to an organization, and I enjoy helping teams unlock their potential and building products that make a difference.
