I'm lucky enough to have worked on both the inside and outside of policy making and communications having spent a decade in state legislatures and nearly the same amount of time in the non-profit advocacy world.My current role allows me to support a wide range of advocates across the country on a variety of health care issues while also providing support to the people on the broader communications team and advising the larger organization on its communications strategies. Communications planning or message development, big picture or minute details, campaign conception or troubleshooting, I get to do a little of it all in my role and am fortunate that I get to share in the hard work and success of dedicated advocates working on worthy causes nationwide.
