Worked on a project observing the effects of extreme heat events on desert plants along an elevational gradient as well as the effects of extreme heat events and plant recovery. As part of the fieldwork, I gained experience identifying, collecting, and flagging plants using field guides. I have also utilized tools such as a pressure bomb, LI-COR, thermal camera, porometer, sap flow monitor, Image J, and various scales to aid in the gathering and computing of data for the project. Additionally, I collaborated with a fellow intern to run a 4-day minimum conductance experiment that we tailored to meet the physiology of desert plants.

Co-lead work parties of around 15 people demonstrating which plants to remove and how to use the various tools, created 10 signs on native plants to be added to a small trail, and wrote two newsletters.

Communicated and encouraged curiosity in STEM topics with primarily elementary age students through museum exhibits for 8-10 hours a week.

Wrote one environmentally related article including two interviews with industry professionals each semester. The first article explored the ethics and cultural significance of whaling and the second barriers California faces in increasing the use of prescribed burns.

Undergraduate research position for The Zero Waste Lab in collaboration with Housing and Dining Sustainability at UC Berkeley to research first year waste sorting by creating a survey and polling over 600 students who live in the dorms.

Collected and researched data on native and non-native taxa in Nigeria for Israel Borokini's research of "Taxonomic and Biogeographic Patterns of Plant Introductions and Invasion in Nigeria, West Africa" under Brent Mishler's Lab.

Wrote bi-weekly covering articles environmentalism and pop culture for the chapter.

Met the required volunteering hours and GPA to participate.

Taught public group lessons of 8-15 children ages 5-12 how to ice skate. Evaluated students at the end of each session and talked about performance with parents.
