Syllable is a venture and SBIR funded AI company with deep expertise in quantifying mental states. With our proprietary machine vision and machine learning technologies, the vocabulary for describing normal and abnormal behavior increases by hundreds of folds. Combining advanced Bayesian non-parametric modeling techniques, neural network algorithms and cloud computing with clinical, genetics, genomics and molecular structure data, we are developing pre-clinical and clinical products that would improve productivity and cycle time in drug discovery and development.

On an international assignment to build a team of IT professionals and computational scientists to deliver a state-of-the-art R&D IT infrastructure and operation to support 2000+ employees. The high performing team was recognized by the global community for their productivity and collaboration while delivering data systems and analytics in target and marker discovery, image analyses and clinical testing that supported the spectrum of drug discovery activities in oncology, and early stage clinical development, connecting regional research with the global R&D organization.Served on the regional leadership team, and the global IT leadership teams. As the Program Innovation Lead, I led the exploration for innovative technologies relevant to Novartis' drug discovery and clinical development programs, with focuses on machine learning, lab automation, and data integration that would enhance internal efforts.

Managed a sixty-plus year-old family owned manufacturing business with annual revenue of greater than USD50M. Coordinated an alliance of China-based joint ventures. Developed commercial accounts in S. America and Europe during the global recession.

Co-led the first sequencing and assembly of the HSV-2 virus genome. Co-authored 200+ patent applications, and patents.

Member of Dr. Anthony Cashmore's lab, a leading laboratory in the study of transcriptional regulation. I isolated and characterized a novel G-Box binding transcription factor.

Created and ran the first computer center for the college. Taught undergraduate courses in scientific computing, and developed computer software to aid literature and humanities research projects.

Member of Dr. Richard Lewontin's lab, a pioneering laboratory in the study of population genetics and genetic polymorphism. I was responsible for the computational software used in the first sequencing and alignment of the ADH gene in the study of intra-species phenotypic variants.
