The circuit card repairer identifies electronics maintenance personnel who have received training in he highly specialized area of circuit card repair. Circuit card repairers are trained in the use of automated test equipment to troubleshoot inoperative circuits cards down to the defective component. They are also trained in the specialized techniques required to remove and replace microminiature components such as surface mounted, highly static sensitive and multilead devices.

Yuma, Arizona Area

Aviation Radar Technicians site, install, operate, test, adjust, align, and repair the Marine Air Command Control Systems (MACCS) air defense radar systems, and associated IFF equipment. Make periodic inspections and perform preventative maintenance; use proper safety procedures in system maintenance and operation; diagnose and isolate malfunction to the fault; remove and replace lowest repairable unit; and verify the the malfunction has been corrected. Maintain diagnostic and operation tools, support, and test equipment; maintain accountability of all parts of the system including software, spare parts, and in requisition supplies and spare parts; and maintain necessary records of maintenance and compile data for reports. The apprentice works directly under the supervision of a qualified Journeyman Electrician in installing or maintaining a variety of approved wiring methods for distribution of electrical light, heat, power, radio and signaling utilization systems. The work is performed in existing or new residential, commercial and industrial buildings and includes street and highway lighting, traffic signal and other outdoor above and below grade installations. The trade requires considerable physical effort on the part of the apprentice to do lifting, climbing, crouching and working in cramped areas.
