Jim Schindler is an executive leader and commercially-minded legal advisor with more than 20 years of experience counseling domestic and global businesses in the Medical Technology and Life Sciences industries on a wide array of legal, regulatory, and compliance issues. He provides business-focused legal guidance and leadership in the following key areas:• Corporate Governance: Partnering with executives and boards to establish corporate governance guidelines and policies for SEC compliance, executive compensation, equity and incentive plans, severance and indemnification, and investor related matters.• Corporate Transactions: Advising on sophisticated public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate financing, with experience leading a life sciences company through the pre-IPO and M&A due diligence processes. • Legal & Compliance Leadership: Experience building, developing, and growing legal teams, and working with compliance leaders to establish and lead compliance global data privacy compliance programs and policies, including policies for compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other data privacy laws. • Intellectual Property & Litigation Strategy: Creating IP strategy for trade secrets and patents, collaborating with executive teams and outside counsel on IP strategies, serving as primary counsel on strategic transactions involving IP, and managing domestic and international litigation.Prior to going in-house, Jim was a corporate lawyer at regional firms. He is a board member of Baden Sports, Inc., and served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Counsel.
