About Chris Stringer
I work full time at Plaid on the Identity Verification Team as an individual contributor, primarily with Ruby and Javascript. Loving the lack of meetings and get it done attitude at this exciting startup. I'm really excited to be working with smart and talented folks in FinTech. Specialties: Over the past decade plus I have become a real Ruby and Rails convert, and have also come to love Javascript despite all its quirks. In the past my development experience was PHP, Linux, Apache and MySQL and a bit of Java thrown in for good measure. Locally I run Nginx/Puma on my Mac. I'm a big fan of Heroku for drop dead simple hosting of Rails apps, although I've also used EngineYard Cloud, AWS, GCE with kubernetes. I'm somewhat of a performance nerd and have found that tools like New Relic and Scout can be very useful there.
