I was a PhD chemist working on product and technical development for state of the art dental products including cements and adhesives. I have experience with technical writing and patent preparation.

I was a medicinal chemist working to discover new drug candidates for the treatment of epilepsy, neuropathic pain, and addiction in Dr. Richard Silverman's lab at Northwestern University.

-Developed new and novel reactions to synthesize heteroatom functional groups and heterocyclic compounds providing three first author publications in high impact chemistry journals.-Synthesized an innovative set of therapeutic compounds for heart disease that resulted in a $131,000 F31 predoctoral fellowship from the National Institute of Health and one patent-Evaluated three impactful fluorescent sensors in cell culture that help better understand oxidative stress. These new sensors have been used for research by dozens of researchers in six different countries. -Mentored five junior researchers while working towards my Ph.D.-Was awarded ‘Research Assistant of the Year’ in 20

- Researched patent literature and market research in oil and lubrication process chemistry to bring new inventions at WSU to market which resulted in six new patents being awarded to WSU researchers.

- Taught lectures and labs for beginning and advanced organic chemistry for approximately 50 students per semester over six semesters.
