Voice & Video Engineering, Applications Development Engineering (ADE) - Design systems to enable communications for people and machines. Emphasis on serviceability, reliability, security, fault-tolerance, and scale. Range from 10-GigE to RS232, HTML to assembly language, SIP to H.323, NTP to DHCP, ATM to Frame Relay.

Design custom electronics systems from power supplies to plasma monitoring systems, and from digital pacemaker test sets to microprocessor development systems. Concentrated on imbeded microprocessor systems.

Consulting on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Internet connectivity, Service Level Agreement verification, Vulnerability assessment, and Application of Security measures.

Bleeding edge (some hardware and software did not make it out of the lab) VoIP and UC. A great learning and teaching experience with top-notch engineers building networks in a week that would normally take months or years.

Advised other board members on activities which directly benefited the ability of the symphony to perform well and attract new members. Reviewed financial proposals and suggested cost saving measures. Encouraged other symphony members to participate in this leadership position.
