Every day at The DI I am able to practice my skills with various projects and break/fix, including low voltage access control wiring and components, computer/server hardware and printer troubleshooting, security cameras, and the local network interconnecting these items.From this role, most of my experience lies with Lenel OnGuard & hardware, Alphacom & Stentafon hardware, and Milestones and Axis Communications hardware, which my technical training in networking greatly complimented. I also gathered lots of practice administrating the O365 & Azure environment of 300+ active staff with a high turnover rate, rolled out a agency-wide HTML email signature with communications, integrated a Windows Exhange Server into a hybrid cluster, and managed multiple small remote site deployments, to name a few accomplishments.My favorite thing about working at The Calgary Drop In Center is the connections I am fortunate to make with its clients, staff and visitors. Its a true privilege to be able to practice my IT skills while supporting an amazing crew of frontline staff who help protect and serve those in our community who need it most.

At Restoration Worx I was able to learn and acquire many construction trades skills and some management experience with small crews operating through disaster restoration phases of demolition, contents removal, mold remediation, and biowashing/hazard removal. I was initially hired as an equipment technician working part time to perform repairs to the mechanical and electrical equipment, and was later offered the opportunity to lead crew of up to 5 members with the emergency restoration and construction/renovation side of the business in various situations.This included residential and commercial framing, drywall, tape, paint, ceiling texture, and other carpentry/finishing jobs.

-Diagnosed and repaired electrical and mechanical systems on commercial logging trucks and trailers.-Assisted journeymen mechanics with commercial vehicle inspections on fleet vehicles -Practiced MIG welding and made minor repairs to equipment an other simple fabrication tasks.

Here I learned most of my basic hand and power tool skills. I also got to operate larger machinery like forklifts, edgebenders, and a large door press. I also assisted drivers and field contractors with delivery of product and installation on commercial job sites.
