Lead the ecommerce filings including pulling the data, formatting it, and loading it into our return software to be filed.

Assisted in modernization process with new Oracle accounting software, including training associates on new procedures for returns, payments, entries, and account balancing. Developing training materials for returns that the department processes, as well as simplifying procedures for those returns and speeding up the return process by making it more automated. In charge of setting up new Kroger business entity in every state/jurisdiction from the beginning of the accounting process through return filing and payment.

Assist the Department Manager in daily functions of the department to ensure all tax returns are timely and accurately to local and state jurisdictions each month/period. Review and approve tax returns completed by clerks under my direct supervision. Review accounts assigned to clerks under my supervisions to ensure they are balanced accurately. Upload and balance Kroger and Kroger entity returns to OneSource monthly and quarterly.

File monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use, and various other types of tax returns for various Kroger entitites. Set up and make the payments for those returns. Make accruals and correcting entries monthly and on an as-needed basis. Account balancing and reconciling on a monthly basis. Make improvements to processes to simplify returns moving forward.
