Reporting to the IHPA Board (the Pricing Authority) I was accountable for the day to day operation of all aspects of the agency. During my time, IHPA introduced a world leading Safety and Quality funding model to the national ABF system, and underwent significant expansion of the functions of the Agency, including taking on responsibility for pricing aged.

I lead the technical and policy teams responsible for delivering IHPA's work program, including the determination of the National Efficient Price, development and refinement of classification systems, and the collection of cost and activity data.Reporting to the CEO, I am responsible for providing advice to the Pricing Authority on a wide range of.

This role brings together responsibility for running the existing hospital funding models for Victorian public hospitals, and the development of the new nationally consistent activity based funding models under the National Health Reform Agreement.

I lead a small team implementation a nationally consistent Activity Based Funding approach for public hospitals.I am responsible for leading negotiations to design new costing and funding models with the Commonwealth government, and advising departmental executives on broader funding model development in public hospital funding.

• RCH is currently constructing a $1 billion New Hospital. In conjunction with this, an organisational change program is underway to improve all facets of the organisation.
• Responsible for the deployment of lean methodologies across the hospital.
• Delivered training to numerous hospitals across Melbourne in lean tools.
• Led improvement project in ENT surgery, resulting in a 50% decrease in waiting list for outpatient clinics, and significant improvements in theatre throughput.
• Led a Cardiac Surgery project that delivered an 80% reduction in cancellations, 20% decrease in waiting list following period of intense media interest.
• Led a stock and inventory improvement project that reduced ward inventory holdings by more than 35%, instituted procedures for ward resupply and material returns.

• Accountable for integrated planning process from mine to marketing, for Olympic Dam Operations, a copper/uranium ore body and processing plant located in South Australia.
• Increased rigour of monthly planning process to deliver reliable, realistic production plans each month. Incorporated monthly sales plan and ensured sales plans aligned with both monthly production profiles and annual.
• Worked with commercial team to ensure that the production plan was incorporated into the monthly financial forecast and that financial outcomes were satisfactory.
• Influenced key decision makers in business unit in order to achieve required production outcomes.

• Initiated review of metallurgical balance procedures and protocols after highlighting significant anomalies in gold balance.
