JD is a polymath investment banker whose diverse background ultimately led him to specialize in commercial real estate finance. JD studied linguistics and evolutionary biology at Columbia University and upon graduating magna cum laude put his science and humanities education to the test as part of the founding team at Vertical Farm Technologies (now VFT Global), a commercial urban agricultural redevelopment company.  JD refocused his efforts in commercial real estate finance and capital markets when he joined Greystone & Co. in 2012 to capitalize on the strengths of the sector and the opportunities of the low yield bond market. Building on his successes in debt finance, JD also formed Triangle J Fund to capitalize on the equity side of select transactions.Currently, JD leads Carnegie Capital in lender relations and structuring transactions. Though he is a 3rd generation New Yorker, JD has moved (Chicago, Dallas and now Austin) in order to be closer to his clients and his markets. JD had been volunteering with both NYC Cares and Chicago Cares for over six years as a mentor for underprivileged youth, served daily meals at Dallas’s ‘The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center’ and currently works with patients and families at Austin’s Medicaid Hospice. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Keep Austin Fed, a local 501c3 committed to reducing hunger and helping the environment by connecting surplus food with neighbors in need. When not hard at work for his clients or his causes, JD can be found hiking, reading great books or exploring whatever city he’s in.
