Using Quantum Concept 2.6, I designed and programmed the conversion formulas from long/lat/alt to UTM coordinates in the PLC's controlling dredges on site. I was faced with troubleshooting communication with each PLC to base-plant and as part of the extraction department at Fort McMurray, I was tasked to update several local HMI's to ease operations. In doing so, I was exposed and made use of different types of programming languages relative to the PLC each specific HMI was controlling.

As Kruger's pulp and paper business currently utilizes over 3200 electrical motors, my duty during the internship was to determine an appropriate assessment of their criticality. My personal goal was to perform the research needed to become familiar with all fundamental concepts behind electric motors in order to aid the company's maintenance management program as much as I can. As this was accomplished, a better maintenance plan was established under my employment of which I am proud of.
