About Jean Faria

I have been working in industry for more than 12 years, always in service areas. During this period I could work in maintenance and most of this time in logistics operations. Within logistics, I played many different roles: stock analyst for technical materials, green belt for lean six sigma projects, key user for warehouse integration, functional expert for EWM implementation. I am proud of have been part of all these activities, because for me I could do for logistics what I try to do also for me: Improve a bit everyday. So far I am enjoying my journey and looking forward to seeing what challenges future will bring to me.

A multidisciplinary team comprising technical materials warehouse, procurement and maintenance employees has been created. At the end of the project, process times were measured; suppliers lead time and stock level parameters were updated and a Power BI dashboard was designed in order to control process automation and stock shortage levels, which has been decreased in 50%.- Member of an improvement project named MOCI, which took place between 2017 and 2018 and aimed to lower the value of Technical Materials Stock at BASF, Camaçari. In this project, my role was to make the entire process of overstock materials transference to others BASF sites and to analyze every purchase requisition, assuring that only factual necessities generated new purchases.

    Support in the remote management of BASF technical materials at BASF Demarchi (São Bernardo do Campo-SP), BASF Vila Prudente (São Paulo-SP) and BASF Jacareí (Jacareí-SP) by means of:- Analysis and release of Purchase Requisitions;- Creation and control of Cyclical Inventories;- Meeting urgent maintenance and production demands from these 3 sites;- Materials transference among its sites in order to ensure compliance with demands and better use of its resources;- Member of Technical Material Master Data in South America;Most Relevant Duties:- Team member of a Lean Six Sigma project for engineering materials control which took place in BASF Guaratinguetá between 2017 and 2018. This project involved Logistics and Engineering teams and handover the management of project materials from the Engineering staff to the logistics personnel. The whole inventory available for project use was measured; leftovers and materials for ongoing projects segregated; unused items were sold as scrap; a suitable warehouse to store the remaining items was prepared and SAP was set to control receipts, deliveries and inventory of these materials. In this project, my role was to collect data for team assessment, prepare materials for use in team meetings, sell scraps, support the Green Belt to customize SAP and control the inventory after project end.

Shelves available in the factory have been used so as to create an organized warehouse in which each material was inspected and had its data collected. Only materials in good conditions were stored. Then, they were codified and specified for procurement purposes. Supported by an IT Team, a warehouse module of the factory’s ERP system has been created so as to control material receipts and deliveries. At the end of the project, more than 3k materials worth over R$ 250k were made available to our internal business partners use in the technical warehouse.
