SureFire LLC is a manufacturer of laser weapon sights; suppressors; hand-held weapons, weapon-mounted helmets, and body-worn lights. The company attained number one in product quality and second in sales volume of similar products.I was hired to expand their commercial sales worldwide in reaction to a long slide of US military sales. This involved being given responsibility of all international military and commercial sales, representing 12% of total company sales, and domestic commercial and consumer sales, representing approximately 77% of total company sales. I reported directly to the CEO and collaborated frequently with the CAO and CFO.My SureFire accomplishments include:Successfully shifting the company focus from military-only sales to include multiple market segments. This refocus boosted sales 25% in 2 years and reversed a multi-year downward slide to double-digit profit gains.I assessed the global market for our products and collaborated with the engineering team to determine new technically advanced product lines.A significant success involved a negotiation deal with Amazon whereby SureFire products were sold at a lower discount than to traditional distributors and dealers, preventing them from being drastically undercut by the web retail giant.I also developed strong creative, problem solving, and growth-oriented teams that included approximately 60 domestic sales representatives, middle management directors, a cross-department focus group, and a team to implement lean manufacturing. My direct reports included Directors of Sales, International Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, Technology Support / Repairs, and Creative Services.
