Product Manager
Current- Founded the development of the VisualMotion product line. This control system was conceived to utilize a Flowchart based motion language and utilize Indramats line of digital servo drive with SERCOS fiber optic communication network. - Product accounted for over $55MM in combined sales with a development staff of 23 persons and operating budget of $2.7MM.- Targeted key markets/accounts and developed unique solutions tailored to specific customer application requirements to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty for the US and International market.- Worked closely with target accounts to analyze control/process needs and translate them into working specifications for product development. Authored requirement specifications for development of software, hardware and applications solutions.- Assisted team members with their understanding and implementation of specified functionality to meet customer requirements. Performed reviews and testing of ensuing products and components to ensure reliability and quality goals were met.- Selected and managed multiple vendors who provided system components including main system CPU boards, fieldbus interface cards, custom VME cardcage, teach pendent, and I/O modules.- Collaborated with Sales, Application, Marketing, Training, Test, Documentation, and Service groups to ensure continued product success in the marketplace.- Managed product through life cycle (inception, development, prototype/beta testing, general sales, migration to multiple hardware platforms and initial phase-out).
