My responsibilities are to prepare plans utilizing AutoCAD software and preparing specifications for new construction and/or renovation of existing facilities. When large projects requiring engineering services are requested, I prepare a request listing A&E firms to submit to Joint Forces Headquarters in Jackson, MS. We review plans and specifications prepared and submitted by A&E firms and/or contractors, attend Pre-Bid meetings and recommend award of contracts along with Pre-Construction, and Progress Meetings. Confirm compliance with building and life safety codes and with internal security and safety requisites. Conduct on-site inspections and field tests of structures which are under construction. Monitor the progress of projects under construction and follow-up to insure user satisfaction, quality control, and compliance within the budget, and verify and approve applications for payment. Act as a problem solver to contractors and sub-contractors.
