Highly Motivated and Experienced Teacher with a demonstrated and proven history of working in the education and management industry. Strong education professional with a Bachelor's degree focused on Social Studies Teacher Education, History from Warner Pacific College. Master's Degree in Teacher Education from Warner Pacific College. Actively looking to join a high school team or middle school team. I had a very strong interest in pursuing a teaching career. I recently came back to school to pursue that career after a 20-year absence to finish my degrees. In May 2017, I graduated from Warner Pacific College with a bachelor’s degree in History/Social Studies, then started in the master’s Program and successfully graduated with a master’s degree in Teacher Education in December 2017. I have experience working both with high school and middle school students. I have a diverse background and completed my main student teaching at Oregon’s most diverse high school, Parkrose High School. My student teaching experience with middle school students was at Floyd Light Middle School in the David Douglas school district. My student teaching experiences were both in Social Studies, History, 11th graders at Parkrose high school, and 7th graders at Floyd Light middle school where I was 1 day a week and mostly observed and helped out when needed, both were inner city schools with a very diverse student population. I had positive successful experiences in these classrooms that contributed to well-managed classrooms. I was able to connect with all students building trust. My lessons were carefully thought out and planned so that the students could understand US History in the past and how they can look at today and find similarities. The students did this through, reading, inquiry, writing, and collaboration.

Long Term Substitute Teacher
I started out as an 8th grade Social Studies who was covering for a teacher on an extended medical leave. I was running the class as if it were my class. I wrote lessons for the students, administered quizzes, tests and administering grades for the students. I set up strict classroom management rules and procedures for the students and gained the students' trust and respect. The administration came to me and asked if I would be willing to take over 7th-grade social studies from April 1, 2019, until the end of the 2019 school year since they had heard fantastic feedback from staff and parents.7th Grade I was asked to take over a teacher who abruptly left the position and retired. I inherited a very tumultuous class where rules were not consistently followed. I have established himself to be a professional in the classroom, where students respect him. I have gained trust with students at a very difficult time of the year for middle school teachers and have excelled while engaging students in their learning. I am running the classroom as mine assigning lessons, giving tests, quizzes and assigning grades.
