Master's Degree in Teacher Education from Warner Pacific College. Actively looking to join a high school team or middle school team. I had a very strong interest in pursuing a teaching career. I recently came back to school to pursue that career after a 20-year absence to finish my degrees. In May 2017, I graduated from Warner Pacific College with a bachelor’s degree in History/Social Studies, then started in the master’s Program and successfully graduated with a master’s degree in Teacher Education in December 2017. I have experience working both with high school and middle school students. I have a diverse background and completed my main student teaching at Oregon’s most diverse high school, Parkrose High School. My student teaching experience with middle school students was at Floyd Light Middle School in the David Douglas school district. My student teaching experiences were both in Social Studies, History, 11th graders at Parkrose high school, and 7th graders at Floyd Light middle school where I was 1 day a week and mostly observed and helped out when needed, both were inner city schools with a very diverse student population. I had positive successful experiences in these classrooms that contributed to well-managed classrooms. I was able to connect with all students building trust. My lessons were carefully thought out and planned so that the students could understand US History in the past and how they can look at today and find similarities. The students did this through, reading, inquiry, writing, and collaboration.
