Jeff Combs is owner and Chairman of UxC, LLC (UxC) and is a leading expert in the nuclear fuel market, with 45 years of experience providing economic analysis and forecasting for the front-end of the nuclear fuel cycle. Under his leadership, UxC has grown to become the world’s pre-eminent nuclear fuel market information and analysis company. In 2007, UxC teamed with NYMEX to introduce the world’s first uranium futures contract. In recent years, UxC has increased the scope of its services to include assessment of reactor technologies and used fuel management. UxC’s clients span 35 countries and include commercial companies involved in the nuclear fuel cycle, governments, international organizations, and investment firms. UxC also provides an annual nuclear fuel market training seminar which attracts participants from around the world. During his career, Mr. Combs has presented a number of papers at a variety of nuclear industry and energy economics conferences throughout the world. In addition, he has had his work published in academic and public policy journals, and has contributed a chapter to Uranium for Nuclear Power: Resources, Mining and Transformation to Fuel. Because of his extensive background in nuclear fuel market matters, Mr. Combs has been interviewed and widely quoted in the media, including such publications as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Moscow Times, Forbes, Fortune, Energy Risk, and Nuclear Industry, and has appeared on various radio and television programs. In 2018, Mr. Combs created the website atompeace.org which provides information and discusses new developments related to the peaceful use of the atom in today’s evolving world. Currently, his focus is on AtomPeace issues, and he has retired from daily project work for UxC.
