Having retired August 1 with 35 years of service, my most recent assignment was managing the team of engineers who designed the $5 billion 600 mile Atlantic Coast Pipeline. We designed it to be in service by late 2018 moving 1.5 billion cubic feet per day to various customers through 42-inch pipe in WV & VA, 36-inch pipe in NC, and 20-inch pipe to Hampton Roads, utilizing 117,545 HP through 3 compressor stations. As a facility planning engineer, I designed several billion dollars worth of capital expansion pipeline and compression projects in both the transmission and gathering systems, including the Appalachian Gateway and Gathering Expansion Projects to various Cove Point pipeline and LNG projects to several gas processing plants including liquids products pipelines. As a Manager and Engineer in Gas Measurement, I managed a team of measurement financial analysts and engineers who designed numerous measurement and regulation stations as well as a new SCADA system with remote controls and automation. As a Compression Engineer, I installed predictive maintenance software and process control computers in many compressor stations while training field technicians to operate the systems. I represented Dominion in leadership of various industry associations, including the American Gas Association, the Pipeline Research Council, and the Gas Machinery Research Council.
