Collect intelligence to identify what future capabilities our military forces might need, then conduct research to evaluate feasibility to design/develop optical solutions to meet those capabilities in the future.The last several years have been challenging as we (Trijicon) identify the disconnect between what the Requirements Divisions across the service demand and what the operators will tolerate. Demand signals point towards the development of Iron Man, complete with exoskeleton, environmentally controlled internal atmosphere, heads up displays, networked capability, computer processor to locate, recognize & identify potential targets and assisted aiming solutions (just like Iron Man in the movies). When I look at Iron Man, I don't see an optic at all. I don't see a weapon either. Many changes will have to occur before the Demand by the Requirements Officers meets the Operator tolerances. The last several years have been exciting however, as we attempt to connect the two disparate sides of the problem together, designing interim solutions, testing on ranges for feasibility and capability and identifying the "next steps" in the link towards enabling the warfighter in ever increasing lethality while simultaneously increasing dispersion.

Performed duties as the advocate for all Infantry forces for development of training solutions, acquiring material solutions to problems or writing doctrine to focus our efforts.

Responsible for the development of training programs for infantry small arms (rifles, grenades, machineguns, mortars, rockets, missiles) and for the tactical applications to use those small arms during peacetime. Subject Matter Expert at the disposal of commanders for the employment of small arms and for tactical actions of Marines during war.
