I began my career in the mortgage banking industry in 2003 after graduating from Towson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After just a few months in the industry, I knew I wanted to learn more. I was eager to further my career and provide more value not only to my employer, but also to gain more knowledge about the industry in general and better understand how it operated. I began training with an Underwriting Manager and after just one year, I became a full-time Underwriter. From there, I quickly worked my way up to Underwriting Team Lead for one of the nation’s leading lenders. After some time in the world of mortgage banking, I wanted to expand my background and follow through with a life goal: to be an educator. I went back to school to obtain my Master’s in Elementary Education from Holy Family University in Philadelphia; however, I continued my employment with Radian during this time, keeping one foot in the mortgage banking world. Upon completion of my degree, I realized that I did not want to leave the industry that I had grown to appreciate…but knew I had more to offer the industry. Over the past four years, I have worked hard to learn and understand the world of corporate training. Today, I am the AVP, Mortgage Learning, with Radian and have the ability to work with and train our customers across the country. I love the fact that I can utilize my background in education within the mortgage banking industry by combining my years of work experience with my passion for helping and educating others. I have also gained experience in Marketing, Project Management, Operations Management, and most importantly, Team and Personal Development. Although it took some time to reach my goal, I finally found the right path—one that allows me to connect with and teach people in the industry I have grown up in.
