My experience includes twenty six years’ within the financial services industry - the last 13 working in financial planning roles. Throughout my career I have developed sound technical expertise in all aspects relating to the provision of holistic financial advice including:• investment planning - risk profile assessment, asset classes and asset allocation techniques relating to diversification • design of portfolios to match client objectives• wealth creation strategies including tax planning, superannuation and retirement planning• personal risk management and estate planning. In addition, I have a comprehensive understanding of the importance of compliance requirements pertaining to the financial planning process and the importance of acting in the best interest of my clients, whilst supporting the advice provided via detailed fact finding, recording and research. With strong relationship building skills I am able to build excellent working relationships with business partners and relevant stakeholders. My skills were quickly recognised by the Westpac bank - offering me a Senior Financial Planning role not long after commencement. The careful fostering of strong relationships not only aided in my career progression but was extremely important in being able to build a large investment and insurance portfolio and achieve revenue targets on a consistent basis. I have highly developed written and verbal communication skills which have proved paramount in the successful provision and acceptance of financial advice. This has involved assisting clients in understanding of the benefits and ultimately the acceptance of the advice. My success as a financial planner is underpinned by these. In preparing written material, presentations or in an interview situation I have always focused on the target audience and endeavoured to present the information in a manner that is easily understood.
