I am starting a new position as Dean of Social Science at Bellevue College. I am looking forward to beginning a new career as a full-time administrator.I was a college professor for 31 years. I am a master teacher with deep expertise in European and global history with the proven ability to teach at every university level including graduate students.Leadership and Management:I have extensive leadership and managerial experience at Manhattan College and with the Society for French Historical Studies (SFHS) and the Western Society for French History (WSFH). I chaired the history department and several major committees and am a two-time president of the SFHS (2020-21; 2023-24) and was president of the WSFH (2013-14).Publications:I am the author or editor of nine books with the most recent being a textbook: "A People's History of the World, 1400 to the present" published by Oxford University Press in 2022 with a companion book of primary sources: "Voices of a People's History of the World, 1400 to the present" that appeared in 2021, and a scholarly monograph: "The Making of a Terrorist: Alexandre Rousselin and the French Revolution" also published by Oxford University Press in 2021.39 articles and book chapters published since 1990. Five more in press.72 public lectures, invited talks, conference presentations and plenaries delivered since 1992. 68 book reviews published since 1993.
