Independently contracted sales of professional nutritional and nutriceutical products to health care professionals in south Washington. Sales are directed mainly at Naturopathic Doctors, Integrative MD's, ARNP's, PA's, Chiropractors and Clinical Nutritionists. Our products are used for the safe, all natural management of medical conditions under the care and supervision of Health Care Practitioners who specialize in a holistic wellness approach to their patients needs. Professional brands of nutrition can only be recommended and dispensed by practicing HCP's and thus have a level of quality and efficacy far surpassing that of standard retail brands found in national chains and "big box" stores. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guarantees this level of quality and efficacy for professional HCP use. I was contracted based on my past sales experience in Medical Foods and the territory I have had only a dozen existing accounts when I was contracted. Now the territory has over 75 accounts and has grown by over 100%. Cold calling, territory management, rapport building, product technical knowledge and technical understanding have all been major contributing factors to this growth.

After four and 1/2 years I am still growing strong. All sale numbers are in the green and year over year growth for year #5 is at 25%. Territory has grown ~300% in 4 & 1/2 years and customer base is strong with great rapport developed. Designs for Health continues to be an industry leader in the health professional sphere and new products and programs are released on a regular basis.

From Rochester, Ny To The Puget Sound In Washington

After 20 years living and working in WNY we decided to sell our home, buy a 25' travel camper and tour the USA for a year. We traveled 17,000 miles of driving and camping from Rochester, NY to Acadia NP, Maine down the east coast to Ft. Myers, Fla. along the Gulf of Mexico and across Texas, up through New Mexico, over to the Grand Canyon and into S Utah, down through Las Vegas to San Diego and up the Pacific Coast to the Puget Sound where we have currently re-located. What a great thing to do!! Everybody should take the time do see our wonderful country and meet its diverse people. Plus, moving trans-continental to an area one has never been to before and starting a new career path in a new state has been an invigorating experience. Helps one to keep their "edge sharp"!

Western Ny. Rochester, Buffalo & Syracuse

Sales of a new style of prescription product called Medical Foods. Medical Foods are FDA regulated all natural products that are indicated for the dietary management of the metabolic processes of underlying conditions where metabolic disorders can lead to chronic conditions like osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Call pattern included sales calls on specialty MD's like Rheumatology, OB-GYN, Orthopedics and Family Practice in WNY. This was a standard "pharma-rep" style of sales cycle that included lunch presentations, sampling visits and a regular pattern of MD visits. I was hired on as an employee after being the longest tenured Independent Contractor in Primus history because we sold Limbrel via a sales force of Independent Contractor's during our orthopedic distributorship days. Once we sold the distributorship I went IC for Primus and after 2 years they brought me on as an employee.

Independent co-distributor for Arthex, Inc. specializing in orthopedic arthroscopy instrument and implant sales. Co-founded in 1993 our contracted territory had zero sales and no existing business. We spontaneously moved to the region from Los Angeles, Ca. after being awarded the Arthrex contract. This was a pure start-up style distributorship. Distributorship was in western NY, and based out of Rochester NY. For first 8 years we created the necessary sales and customer base to expand and start hiring sales representatives. We made and exceeded quota 14 out of 15 years and received numerous awards. After 15 years in the business we had grown from 0$ to ~$10,000,000 in sales with 7 sales reps (employee reps) and over $500,000 of in-house inventory and 2400 sq. ft. of leased office space. A second simultaneous business operation was sales of prescription Medical Foods for an all natural way to manage osteoarthritis which had 5 sales reps (Independent Contractors) from 2000 to 2008. Other product lines sold within the distributorship were cryo-therapy, orthopedic bracing & spinal bracing, ablation systems and rehab products.

Los Angeles, Ca

Sales of Richards Orthopedics Total Joint, Trauma and Spinal surgical systems to orthopedic surgeons in the East Los Angeles County territory. Sales were developed primarily by cold calling surgeons offices to gain support of recognized surgical procedures and by servicing existing Richards customers. This was an intra-operative postition requiring extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, surgical terminology, surgical prodcedural protocol and reliable product procedural abilities.The trauma products were the most demanding requiring 24 hour on call reliability for emergency orthopedic needs throughout LA County. Total joint surgeries were more complicated requiring significantly more instrumentation and knowledge on their proper usage. As an OR team member I was relied upon by the doctor, scrub tech and circulating nurse to supply in depth knowledge on step by step usage of the Richards instruments and implants.I was given an expansion territory and proceeded to grow that territory 4 straight years with numerous accomplishments and accolades.
