Taught Food Service Management and Security Courses. Handled administration for 125 students. Completely handled all elements of a subsidiary school; The Pittsburgh Bartending Institute.

Handled all elements of business in a 150 seat full service, casual dining, jazz night club in the heart of one of Pittsburgh hottest entertainment venues with revenues exceeding $1 million per year. Over-saw 35 employees.

Oversaw seven field supervisors and 115, 24-hour AM/PM Mini-Markets, gas stores and car washes/pumpers. Regional revenues exceeded $50 million per year. The territory ran from the Chicago Loop at Lake Michigan, west to Aurora, south to Chicago Heights and north to Waukeegan.

In a 120 convenience store system, oversaw all elements of security, loss prevention, safety and community/police relations. Established a nationally recognized anti-crime and crisis intervention program.

Responsible for all aspects of security and loss prevention for 15 locations operating under the titles of David Weis Jewelers and Distributors (10), Wilkens Jewelers (3) and DeRoy Jewelers (2). Directly supervised 35 armed, uniformed and plainclothes employees. Administered over 2,500 pre-employment or investigative lie-detector tests using voice stress analysis. Investigations produced interface and liaison with the FBI, the Secret Service Branch of the Treasury Department, the District Attorneys Offices of Special Investigations in Allegheny and Cambria Counties, the Pennsylvania State Police as well as many local municipal police forces.

Assisted in directing 17,500 weekly man-hours of contract, uniform and plain-clothes, armed and unarmed security officers at a variety of locations including all of Greater Pittsburgh International Airport flight operations - both passenger and freight, the Pittsburgh Housing Authority properties, hospitals, numerous office complexes and shopping malls, industrial research sites; including ones requiring government clearances, steel mills, rail yards and trucking terminals, construction sites and executive protection/special event details. Held government security clearances in this "suit and tie" position and was licensed under the PA Lethal Weapons Act.
