I am a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators. Additionally, I am certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician. I have been conducting fire and explosion investigations with FORINCON since January, 2017. I was previously working with Forensic Fire Analysis, LLC, beginning in November, 2011 when I retired from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). I was a Special Agent with ATF with specialized training as a Certified Fire Investigator and Certified Explosives Specialist. My primary duties with these specialties included origin and cause investigation of fires and post blast investigations of explosions. Additionally, I taught both origin and cause and post blast investigation. I have testified as an expert witness regarding origin and cause of fires in United States District Court, State of North Carolina Criminal Court and United States Army Military Court of Justice. I had approximately 34 years of experience in law enforcement with approximately 7 years in local law enforcement and 27 years in federal law enforcement.
