Network changes within Quest required restructure, building relocation, computer system consolidation, and test menu changes. Blended and right sized staffing to meet the new testing model. Led teams to ensure seamless computer transition enabling lab consolidation, Designed new Clinical lab building layout plan. Led instrument liquidation and assisted building remediation in the Auburn Hills building. Led team to move and validate all clinical lab instrumentation, maintaining all CLIA compliance regulations so the newly moved laboratory passed inspection without deficiency. Led consolidation of innovative dry blood spot testing from the former Quest Summit Health technical lab to the Troy facility. Enhanced abilities with multiple Quest management courses. Was invited to and graduated from the one year Quest leadership academy which included multiple leadership and management courses as well as presentation evaluation and multiple project requirement completion. Completed Quest QMS bronze level training.

Managed supervisors of Chemistry, Clinical Toxicology, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Coagulation as well as directly supervised day shift same day/STAT testing FTEs. Managed departments producing 19 million test results annually. Participated in At Risk client attrition reduction process, addressed client issues, communicated with clients ,facilitated client repeat process ,monitored departmental quality, monitored compliance ,participated in Lab update rollout team(chair in absence of Lab Ops leader), managed departmental budget and productivity, handled reagent utilization initiative for the Auburn Hills business unit, managed departments through complete lab information system Q suite conversion, attained and maintained 6 sigma green belt certification with multiple completed projects ,represented the Business unit at national Laboratory Lab Directors meetings, presented employee quarterly meetings, assumed responsibilities of Lab Operations Director when on LOA , participated on Best Practice teams, participated in client visits with sales reps. Mentored 6 of my former lead technologists to be promoted to supervisor through Director level positions. Was the leader of the Chemistry Best Practice Team through critical time frames of mergers and primary Quest instrument selection and implementation.

Attended manufacturer schools for the Abbott Axsym, Bayer Axon, Olympus 5200, and Olympus 5400 instruments.

Performed analysis in Automated chemistry using Hitachi 736, Abbott TDX, Perspective, and various analyzers. Led trouble shooting and maintenance activities, wrote SOPs, and prepared the lab for CAP inspection.

Supervised staff of 19 FTEs, including scheduling, evaluation, overseeing proficiency testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and implementing SOPs. Departments performed full complement of of esoteric assays, including Electrophoresis, RIA, DAU, TDMs, and Serology.

Oversee technical(Chemistry,Hematology,Urinalysis,Blood Bank,Serology,Esoteric, Drug Testing)clerical, transportation, and phlebotomy operations on the(main) night shift. Responsibilities included checking and approving worksheets, QC data, scheduling, training, evaluating personnel, answering client technical questions, writing and updating procedures, evaluating new test methods and instruments, handled all aspects of proficiency testing, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Led Laboratory through successful first time CAP inspection. Attended manufacturer schools for the Technicon Chem 1 and Coulter STK-S.

Worked part time job in addition to full time employment. Performed lab testing in multiple Physician office labs in Metro Detroit.

Performed automated, manual, TDM, Esoteric, and RIA chemistry testing. Operated and maintained SMAC II/SRA2000 instruments, developed stock ordering system, trained technologists, wrote SOPs.
