Jeff Masters is a litigation partner and founding chair of the Risk Management and Insurance Coverage Practice Group at the preeminent real estate and construction law firm Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP. He serves owners, investors, contractors, developers and homebuilders.He prosecutes complex insurance coverage claims and litigation against insurers in California and nationally. His nationally recognized strategic legal counsel includes, but is not limited to:• Designing, structuring and implementing risk management, contractual risk transfer and insurance programs for major for-sale residential, multi-family, commercial and mixed use projects, including professional services agreements, construction contracts, design peer review and construction quality assurance (QA) programs, project governance documents, disclosures, warranties, homeowners association relations protocols and customer service operations;• Negotiation and implementation of liability and property insurance programs, with a particular focus on rolling and project-specific residential and commercial OCIPs and CCIPs, rolling and project-specific professional liability insurance programs and other innovative insurance structures, including manuscripting of policy language; and• Managing and insuring risk in connection with project exit strategies, entity dissolutions, condominium conversions, shelf condominiums, adaptive reuse projects and repositioning of distressed real estate assets.
