Oversaw the Sports Marketing department for the official marketing, partnerships and tourism organization for the City of New York. Responsible for attracting, creating and promoting domestic and international sporting events to maximize travel and tourism opportunities, drive new revenue and spread a positive image for NYC globally.• Partnered with local professional teams, venues (Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden, MetLife Stadium and others.), and high-profile sporting events to cross-promote their respective initiatives through domestic & international marketing platforms. Recent events include the US Open and the NYC Marathon, as well as the Big East, Atlantic 10, Big Ten, and ACC Basketball Championships.• Recognized for attracting substantial new partnership interest by transforming the value proposition via new channels (social media, etc.) and targeting new local and international audiences. Credited with consistently raising brand awareness and increasing ticket sales.• Oversaw the development of numerous sports event RFP bids, achieving a high success rate despite limited budget. Led the domestic and international marketing and tourism initiatives for dozens of large-scale sports events, including: - 2013 & 2019 WrestleMania; 2015-2018 WWE SummerSlam; - 2013 MLB All-Star Game; - 2014 Super Bowl; - 2014, 2016, 2020 & 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments; - 2015 NBA All-Star Game; - 2017 President's Cup; 2019 PGA Championships; 2024 Ryder Cup (golf); - 2018 NHL Winter Classic; - 2018 Overwatch World Championships (esports); - 2026 FIFA World Cup – Spearheaded the NY/NJ portion of North America’s successful bid• Worked closely with city agencies to facilitate large-scale events in NYC’s public spaces, e.g. creation of an interactive fan experience in Times Square for the 2014 Super Bowl:- 1 million tourists interacted with event- 50,000 fans came to New York specifically for this event and similar fan initiatives
