- Oversaw a team of ~8 in the design, implementation, and validation of embedded software focused on hybrid powertrain “torque execution”: producing the driver’s requested powertrain torque while adhering to drive quality requirements (e.g., acceleration, jerk, snap) and component limits (e.g., engine and electric motor torque, speed, and thermal limits; high voltage battery power/voltage/current limits; transmission clutch limits).

- Developed control algorithms for hybrid vehicles that leveraged real-time optimization techniques to determine the strategic operating state of the powertrain – engine on/off, transmission gear, and engine and electric motor speeds and torques – in order to meet fuel economy, emissions, drive quality, and performance requirements.
