I have served as architect and developer on numerous systems and enjoy everything from creating relational database models and designing cloud native applications to pure coding.I have designed and built commercial software as well as internal line-of-business apps for large companies. I have experience with the full life-cycle of development from requirements gathering to sunsetting.I designed and was lead developer on a product that was used to track repairs on cell phones that was used in numerous repair depots and hundreds of stores.While at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution I helped design and build systems that connect Oracle and SQL Server databases then sync data with over 1,000 Windows Mobile devices via wireless sync.I also worked with Microsoft's Business Intelligence stack to help the business gain strategic insights from its data.I worked on various web and mobile products related to automotive valuations for Black Book aka National Auto Research.In my role as Principal Architect for Sage I worked on a cloud based enterprise messaging system that loosely coupled disparate systems. Most of that work was with the Azure platform and included App Services, Azure SQL, Document DB, Storage, and Service Bus.At Code Career Academy I have designed and built our curriculum for Full-Stack Web Development using the Microsoft stack as well as smaller, independent courses. I also designed and created the underlying cloud CMS systems that power our web apps like CCALearn.tech.In 2016 & 17 I was honored to receive the Microsoft MVP award, and I continue to author courses for Pluralsight.I have served as President of the Gwinnett, Georgia, Microsoft User Group (GGMUG) since 2008.I'm always up for a technical challenge and enjoy problem solving.Specialties: Systems Architecture, Microsoft .Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Azure, SQL Server, Mobile Computing, Database Design, Application Design, ASP MVC, Git, GitHub, teaching, mentoring.

Most recently I worked in the Data Services group that provides DBA services, database design and development services, and Business Intelligence solutions for the newspaper.We were working with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) to aggregate data into cubes for reporting via SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Performance Point in Microsoft Office Sharepoint Services (MOSS).In the past I helped design and build several systems that use .net Compact Framework apps on Windows Mobile devices along with web interfaces to manage and track deliveries of newspapers. I worked on overall system architecture, database design, database development and wrote the code for synchronizing data from the handhelds with SQL Server (C#/SQL CE/.net Compact Framework).In this capacity I worked heavily with both SQL Server and Oracle databases. I designed data models, wrote code for stored procedures and triggers, handled ETL and much more. I have written one metric ton of SQL, PL/SQL and T-SQL. I have done ETL via SSIS, .net apps, and Unix shell scripts.

I was architect and team lead for a product line used to track repairs on cell phones.I designed and built a pre-J2EE Java web system that incorporated servlets and applets (using Swing GUI) to provide a rich environment for tracking the entire repair process from logging the phones at the stores to tracking shipping to and from the repair depot as well as all repairs actually made to the phones. Handheld barcode scanners were used heavily to interact with the system.We began with one customer, BellSouth Mobility (which became Cingular and then AT&T), and one developer (me) and grew to many customers and many developers.I worked extensively with Websphere and Visual Age during this time period. I also worked with both SQL Server and Oracle databases.
