About Jeff Bean
I have always thought of safety in “life or death” terms since in the aviation field, the odds seem to be significant. But even in industries thought to be less hazardous than aviation, the impact of neglecting the safety aspects of any job can be major. As I transition from a successful military career, I want to help private industry be just as successful in safety and in production.Safety is something you plan for—it doesn’t just happen. Since 2010 I have had direct responsibility for planning safe maintenance and safely operating aircraft. Safety planning is effective when every aspect of preparation and performance is studied through the “safety lenses.” A part of the safe approach consists of conducting safety inspections identifying and correcting hazards and possible hazards. A second part includes thorough training of personnel to ultimately prevent injury. My top skills include establishing production plans, guidelines and coaching team members. I’m best known for meeting goals through planning, team building and supervision. My job involves managing the maintenance of aircraft to ensure the aircraft are safe for flight. I have spent countless hours ensuring all maintenance processes are conducted according to appropriate publications and that every flight is executed on time and safely. Working safely in a high tech environment can be especially tricky! If we want to increase profits, reduce costs and improve quality, safety has to be a top priority. Successful companies have put safety in a proactive stance instead of remaining reactive. I believe this is how product quality improves, innovation flourishes and profits soar. I believe this is a path to excellence! We need to transform our working environment in ways large and small to prevent injuries and ultimately prevent production loss.
