I am a civil litigator focusing my practice on commercial litigation, professional liability and regulation, and administrative law. In 2016, I co-founded an innovative litigation boutique after having spent more than a decade at one of Canada's top law firms. I provide risk management advice to businesses and institutions before litigation commences. I also help clients navigate the thorny issues that can accompany well-publicized litigation.I have extensive experience in professional liability litigation and regulation. I have spent many years defending physicians in medical malpractice litigation, regulatory matters before the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and in hospital privileges matters. I also provide assistance and advice to physicians undergoing peer assessments, investigations, and appearances before the Quality Assurance Committee. I have acted for other regulated professionals such as accountants and have represented clients in litigation against certain professionals. I have conducted all manners of litigation including jury and non-jury civil trials, appeals, motions, applications, judicial reviews, inquests, discipline hearings, arbitrations, and other administrative proceedings.
